Shakespeare, the Savoy edition.

Printed in 1896, this book shows the beautiful art-nouveau style of the time. Inside the book is a note, written at Christmas 1945, just after the 2nd World War has ended, from a lady who is giving it as a present to her nephew, Edmund. She writes:’..it is so difficult to get books for the present..’  Absolutely original, it astonished us that the note survived inside the book all these years.
